Entrepreneurship

Georgia Entrepreneur Friendly logo

Elbert County recognizes the importance of small business – in fact this county grew economically around small granite businesses and has continued to expand into other areas over the years.  When the State of Georgia created the Entrepreneur Friendly designation, Elbert County was one of the first counties to apply for and receive the designation.  13th out of 159 counties, this community is proud to place an emphasis on small business development.

One of the immediate results of the EF designation was helping the community realize a need for specific, efficient information to present to a small business owner or a prospective small business owner.  A notebook of information is available for the small business-owner including the “ABC’s of Owning a Business in Elbert County” and a variety of agency brochures that offer assistance to small business owners.  This packet is available to interested persons who come to the Elbert County Chamber of Commerce and they may consult with the Executive Director of the Development Authority.  Plus, the “ABC’s” information is online at www.elbertga.com.

The State of Georgia has a "hot off the presses" update on ways the State supports the growth of small business.  Take a look here.
